VALÉRIE PICHER
Associate Vice-President, Community Relations, TD Bank Group

Valérie joined TD Bank Group in May 2013 and is a part of the Global Corporate Citizenship team.  She currently serves as the Associate Vice-President of Community Relations.

Val oversees and manages one of the largest corporate donations budget in Canada, which supports over 2,500 non-profit and charitable organizations every year. TD has a long-standing commitment to enriching the lives of its customers, colleagues and communities. In March 2018, TD launched The Ready Commitment, a new multi-year program to help individuals and communities prosper. As part of The Ready Commitment, TD targets CDN $1 billion in total by 2030 towards community giving in four areas critical to opening doors for an inclusive tomorrow – Financial Security, a more Vibrant Planet, Connected Communities and Better Health. Through The Ready Commitment, TD's aspiration is to link business, products, services, and community giving to help people feel more confident - not just about their finances, but about their future and their ability to achieve their personal goals in a changing world.

After graduating the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Valérie began her career in politics.  She’s served 8 different Cabinet Ministers at the federal and provincial levels over a period of 15 years starting as a receptionist and working her way up through the ranks as a political policy advisor, press secretary, and director of communications.  In the final 6 years of her political career, she served as Chief of Staff for 2 Cabinet Ministers under the McGuinty/Wynne governments.

Outside of work, Valérie loves to spend time with her husband and young daughter and also serves as a volunteer board member with Community Living Toronto and Ophea.
