Manager, Arts & Sector Development, City of Kingston

Danika Lochhead is the Manager, Arts and Sector Development at the City of Kingston. In this position, Danika oversees the City’s arts portfolio and provides leadership related to the arts in Kingston across a broad spectrum of activity within the context of the Kingston Culture Plan and in alignment with corporate strategies, plans and priorities. In this role, Danika facilitates and promotes the work of the Cultural Services Department as it relates to the arts through programming, events, services and strategies relevant to the community as well as in connection to City-owned facilities including the Grand Theatre and the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning. Danika is also responsible for the ongoing implementation of the City of Kingston’s public art program.

Prior to joining the City, Danika held the position of Executive Director of the Kingston Arts Council where she created, promoted and directed a broad range of programs and services for the local arts community. Before moving to Kingston in 2015, Danika lived in Toronto for 10 years where she worked in public relations.
